Deciding that "yep I'd like a go at that", up through to starting in the circuit. Adventures in general handling and discovering the fun of getting airborne.
01 Preflight
In which I discover an enthusiasm for Things Airborne, visit pretty places
to look at pretty things and wonder if I could do that too.
02 Taster
In which I make the most of a birthday present, perturb my family and get
my feet off of the ground.
03 Now Or Never
In which I make a decision, learn several new and interesting things about
aerodynamics and some not-so-interesting things about the vagaries of the
British weather.
04 Control Effects
In which I translate theory into practice, lose many things up to and including
the airfield and find myself afflicted with an addiction to being in the air.
05 Wind Is A Four Letter Word
In which I discover more Things Wot The Aeroplane Does, attempt to fly in
a straight line and discover several difficulties of navigation.
06 Power, Attitude, Trim
In which I have fun in the snow, babble like a fool on the radio and have
my brain turned to mush by the intricacies of going up and down.
07 The Joys of Spring
In which I go around and around and up and around and down and around and
around some more. And in which I enjoy the company of happy pilots making
the most of the weather and newly arrived longer evenings.
08 Round and Round
In which I commence circuit bashing and try to avoid landing on the go-kart
track or bending anything on the aeroplane.
09 Backseat to Dunkeswell
In which I get to ride as passenger on someone else's navigation practice
and enjoy some 'real' flying.
10 Circuits in the Murk
In which I am thwarted by the weather again but get back up in the circuit
anyway, meet a new aeroplane and try not to bend that one either.
11 Falling With(out) Style
In which I learn how to make falling flying again, try not to impersonate
a Stuka too often, admire some scenery and go around and around a few more
times in another direction.
On to Part 2...
More circuit bashing.
